To utilize a Canvas through the API or within an App, it is required to publish a version of your Canvas. If your Canvas is still a Draft, you will be asked to move it into a Project first. To publish a version, click the Publish button in the top right corner of the application interface. Publish Version In the Publish version dialog, choose the Publish target, the environment where this version should run:
  • Production is the environment that Apps and API calls use by default
  • + New environment creates another environment, such as staging, so you can try a version through the API before publishing it to Production
You can also turn on Deploy App in the same dialog to create an App. Click Publish to Production to confirm.

To publish to more than one environment at once, select each of them. The button changes to match, for example Publish to Production and staging.

Publishing to an environment replaces the version that environment currently serves. Apps and API calls targeting that environment pick up the new version immediately.

Going back to a previous version

If you need to go back to a previous version of your Canvas, click the version button (for example VER-3) next to the Publish button on the top right corner of your Canvas page. This opens the Version History.
The version you are editing is marked Current, and the version each environment serves is marked with the environment name, such as production.

Each version shows its summary of changes, its ID and who created it. Click View to see a past version, or Restore to bring it back as the version you are editing. Every version is saved and you can always go back to your published version or publish a different version if needed!
A Canvas published to Production can also run by itself at set times. See Schedules.
